- Samuel Lynn - Samuel Lynn, who always used just S. Lynn on his photographs, opened his first studio about 1870 in a rented building at the SE corner of what is now Clarksville and 1st SE. He later bought the east end of the block just across the street west. He built a brick buillding on the corner lot (SW corner of the intersection), leasing the lower floor and had his studio in the upper rooms, as was the custom for photagraphers. Mr. Lynn was very active in the civic affairs of the town. He was alderman many times. Mr. Lynn was still listed at the same address in the city directory of 1892. He died in Dec 1903. So ends the saga of S. Lynn, Photographer. This information provided by Dennis R. Lee. Listed in Marshall, 1867; Sulphur Springs, 1868; Paris, 1869-99; also listed in Lamar County, 1871-76.
