POOL, YOUNG posted by Sharon on Saturday, June 7, 1997: YOUNG I am seeking death information (only) for Samuel E. YOUNG and his wife Nancy Jane (POOL) YOUNG. They moved from Lauderdale Co, AL to Hopkins Co, TX in the 1890s along with many of their adult children. Sam appears on the 1900 census in Hopkins Co, TX. In the book, Kith and Kin of James & Mary (Kellough) Young, it mentions that Sam may have died while visiting relatives (where?)and Nancy died in Hopkins Co, TX on May 12, 1899.

JAMES, SMITH posted by Susan Black Moore on Sunday, June 15, 1997: I am searching for info re: JAMES and SMITH families in Hopkins County, Texas around early 1900's. C. Elford JAMES and his wife Elizabeth SMITH lived in Sulphur Springs and had nine children - Emmett, Millie, Myrtle, Billie, J.D., Y.C., Erma, H.B. and Cynthia. Cynthia was my grandmother. She graduated from the Aubrey school in 1912. I believe her father, C. Elford JAMES came from Alabama. Cynthia's mother, Elizabeth SMITH, was the daughter of James Henry SMITH and Sarie M. SMITH. Elizabeth also had an unmarried sister, D.L. I believe the JAMES family moved to northeast Tarrant County after 1912. James Henry & Sarie SMITH, C. Elford and Elizabeth JAMES, and Cynthia JAMES are all buried in Bourland Cemetery in Keller, Texas. I have much more info re: Cynthia and her siblings, but I need info about her parents (C. Elford & Elizabeth JAMES and her grandparents (James Henry & Sarie SMITH). Thank you.

Particularly looking for parents of Aaron McBRIDE b. 1861 and Ben McBRIDE b. 1863-1866 both in Arkansas, but who were raised by D.W. COLLEY 1870-1880. DESPAIN, GRIFFITH, PHILLIPENS posted by Robin Clanton Mills on Saturday, June 28, 1997: Searching for info on John M GRIFFITH and family. John and wife, Rachel DeSPAIN GRIFFITH listed in Titus Co, TX census in 1850. John's father, Evan GRIFFITH also listed. In 1860, John is listed in Hopkins Co, TX with wife, Sarah and several children, the oldest being William, age 9. William was b 10 May 1851. Apparently Rachel died sometime in 1850. I am looking for evidence of John and Sara's marriage either in Titus or Hopkins Co. Sara's maiden name may have been PHILLIPENS. Titus Co records apparently destroyed in 1895 fire. Any other suggestions or info appreciated. Thanks!

They had come from Tipton County, TN, but were living in Lamar County, TX at the time of the 1860 census. I am looking for any information on their children: James K.P. WORTHAM b. @1847, Simeon W. WORTHAM b. @ 1852, Pernedia Ann WORTHAM b. @ 1856, Charles WORTHAM b. @1859 and Mary WORTHAM b. @ 1862. I would like to know if any of these children were ever married and if they raised families. I am researching all WORTHAMs in Texas, and have lots of information on the various branches of the family there. Willing to share. Tom Wortham
