Surname: STOCKTON I'm looking for any information on my gggrandfather Drury W. STOCKTON and his family. They lived in Black Oak Township and were listed in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records for Hopkins County. Drury (B 1812 KY) was married to Lucy (B 1832 MO) and they had 14 children: William (B 1838 MO), Minerva (B 1843 AR), Amanda (B 1845 AR), Nancy (B 1847 AR), Drury A. (B 1848 AR), Martha (B 1851 AR), George (B 1853 TX), Thomas (B 1855 TX), Benjamin (B 1856 TX), Francis (B 1861 TX), Elisha (B 1865 TX), Hamilton (B 1867 TX), James (B 1870 TX), and Lucy White (B 1875 TX). My ggrandfather was Drury A.and ended up living in Sevier County AR. I have no idea what became of the rest of the family, so anything on deaths, marriages or births would be very helpful.

Interested in any information on the BYRD, GORDON, BRINTON, KING and FLANAGAN families of Hopkins County. Great grandfather John E. BYRD came to Texas from Shenandoah Co., VA in the late 1850's. Was married three times. First wife, Nancy GORDON, married in Lamar County had one son, John GORDON. After her death John E. married Mary BRINTON. They had one daughter. Again his wife died and he remarried. His last marriage was to Julia Caroline KING. Have siblings of Julia Caroline, but need parents or other information. Any assistance appreciated.

STOCKTON I am looking for information on my gggrandfather Drury W. STOCKTON and his family. He was born in 1812 in KY and his wife Lucy E. WHITE was born in 1832 in MO. They moved from Arkansas to Hopkins County, TX in 1853. They were listed on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records. Drury W. was listed as a farmer and a physician. They had 14 children between them: William, Minerva, Amanda, Nancy, Drury A., Martha, George, Thomas, Benjamin, Francis, Elisha, Hamilton, James and Lucy W.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been unable to find info on Samuel POSEY, Theodocia POSEY or Lizzie POSEY and little on Verna POSEY. All are children of LeeAiden Posey and Alice Lindley and would have been born between 1866 and 1880 in Hopkins County. I have info on their brothers and sisters (5) and family members cannot remember. Appreciate your help. thanks!

Seek descendants and relatives of William Joseph GRIFFIN, born 7 Apr 1879 in Pleasant Plains, Independece Co. Ark. His mother and step father, Ferdinand PRINCE, moved to Hopkins Co. TX and W. J. went back to marry Arminta "Minnie" HAMMETT in Indpendence Co. 17 Aug 1904. W.J. and Minnie moved to Allen, Hughes, OK about 1907 and she died there 31 Mar 1918. W.J. moved back to Hopkins Co. TX where he died in Jun 1954. W.J. had a brother, Andrew Franklin GRIFFIN, born 1877 in Ark and a sister, Nancy E. GRIFFIN. Both W.J. and Andrew are buried in the Old Sherley Cemetery in Hopkins Co. Need info on his father, James Pinkerton "Pink" GRIFFIN and mother, Rebecca A. DAVIDSON. Rebecca DAVIDSON had additional children by Ferdinand PRINCE with Charlie and John being two of them. Am lookin for any information on the Christopher C. and Agnes SHEPHERD family. David and Elizabeth Catherine were his parents. They arrived in Hopkins county in the late 1840's from Arkansas. Christopher had sons named David, Columbus (married Lear HAWKINS in Hunt County 1874), and George W. (married Sarah Ann ?). He had daughters, Mary M., Sarah, and Roseann. C. C. and Agnes are buried in Lone Oak, Hunt, Texas .

I am looking for information on a GRANTHAM family who may have lived in Hopkins County in the 1840-1850 period. Richard GRANTHAM would have been about 10 years old, and his mother, Araminta GRANTHAM about 40-50. I believe they may have lived in a forgotten village called Black Jack Grove. I am seeking information on the family of Smith W. KEY, who moved to Hunt County, Texas from Dallas County, Arkansas in the 1880's. They lived in or near Greenville. Frances A. "Fannie" (OVERMAN) KEY, the first wife of Smith W. KEY, died on 21 May, 1891 in Hunt County. Her obituary states that the family had moved to Greenville several years before that. Where is she buried? Smith W. KEY married his second wife, Cornelia PATTERSON on 25 December, 1895. When did she die? Where is she buried? Who were her parents? Smith W. KEY was living in or near Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas in 1924. Was he living with a daughter there? When did he die? Where is he buried? The family of John BOATMAN moved to TX from Mississippi about 1860. They lived in Wise Co. according to the 1860 TX census. John & Jesse BOATMAN were members of the Masons in Hopkins Co. during the mid-1860's. That is all the info. I have about their short stay in Hopkins Co. before Jesse moved to Denton Co. Daughter, Caroline Boatman Harris PILCHER, married Carolos LUMBARD after her husband, David R. PILCHER, joined the Confederate Army in TX. She is shown living in Grayson Co. in 1870, married, and 1880, living alone. I can find no record of her divorces or 3rd marriage. No info. on David R. PILCHER has been located after his military service. Any info. would be helpful.

RILEY, Charles Willim-d. November 22, 1888 in Hopkins County. He is buried in Miller Grove Cemetery. He was married to Susan M. ? d. June 1, 1906, who is buried in Tira Cemetery along with a g-son H.H. RILEY, son of Paul G. RILEY. I would appreciate any information on C.W.
