Looking for any information on the family of Rufus K. WHEELER (b. ca.1836, GA -- d. 10 Nov 1880, Hopkins Co., TX) and his wife, Mary Jane ASKEW (b. Aug 1846, Tyler Co., TX -- d. 09 July 1934, Oak Grove, Bowie Co., TX). Known children: John H. WHEELER and Joseph L. WHEELER. John H.(b. 1881, TX) married about 1901 Lota ??? (b. 1884, AL) and had the following children: Tommie b. 1903, Frankie (f) b. 1904, Jessie (f) b. 1906, Johnnie (f) b. 1908 and Elmer J., b. Apr 1910, all in TX.

Thomas C. BOWEN b. 2 Dec 1833 AL. and wife Loveann DESMOND 1839- Feb. 1904; were in Bosque Co. on 1880 cen. This is the last census I can find son's John D. BOWEN 1867 Franklin Co.TX. and William Marion BOWEN 1871 Hopkins Co. Both may of died in Bosque Co.? In 1885 family is in Eraph Co. 1886 in Brown Co. Can not locate T.C. BOWEN in TX. cen. 1860 yet he should be there. Looking for other Alabama to Texas Bowen's. Thank you

I am searching for any descendants of my ggGrandfather, William GARRETT. William and his second wife, Susannah HUGGINS GARRETT, and their children, came to Hopkins County in the spring of 1843. They settled at Garrett Prairie--being 15 miles south of Cumby and 8 miles north of Emory, Tx. I have about 5 pages of info about their early life in Texas written in 1924 by Eliza Jane GARRETT, granddaughter of William and Susannah. William and Susannah lived in Indiana before moving to Texas. William died 12 Aug 1852 in Hopkins County, Susannah died 19 Nov 1883, also in Hopkins County. I have lots of info to share and would really like to find descendants --cousins!! Thank You.

Looking for HINE family. Arthur and Annie HINE lived on 7th St in 1920 Census. Hugh RUSSELL and his family (wife Annie and daughter Esther) also lived with them ... as well as Sarah RUSSELL (mother to Annie HINE and Hugh RUSSELL) and Katie RUSSELL. Sarah RUSSELL died in 1924. Looking for information on James A. WILLIS, b. 1836 in Tenn. died in Civil War. Married Mary Ann PROCTOR in Hopkins Co. in 1857. They lived very close to Millers Grove, Tx. Mary was the daughter of Thomas PROCTOR of Missouri. They came to Hopkins Co. in 1843.

She married March 15, 1877, Hopkins County, to James Albert (Jim) BRUMLEY. Mandy was her nickname. Mandy and Jim are found on the census's from 1860 through 1910, then they disappear. Archibald N. HENDERSON lived in Hopkins Co and is buried in the odd fellows cem with his wife Mary HOOKER. He b. 16 Feb 1824 in Anderson Dis, SC She b. 22 Nov 1826 in MS. Need his parents and leads to descendants. Lived with Son Samuel HENDERSON until death in 1914. Her parents John and Mary HOOKER buried in Sulphur Springs City Cem. Moved to Hopkins co in late 1850's. Really at a dead end on both lines

Interested in corresponding with anyone researching the families of Hopkins County pioneers Mary Elizabeth BROOKS CRISP and her husband Carroll CRISP, together with her sister Rebecca BROOKS MARSHALL BECK and husband James Robert BECK. I understand these two families lived at Pleasant Grove, Texas which is now called Plunkett. I believe they were daughters of John BROOKS, who came to Upshur County in 1853. I also believe they were sisters to my great-grandfather, John L. BROOKS, who lived in Upshur County with his wife Jane ADAIR for many years before moving to San Antonio, TX.

In particular, my grand- parents, William Thomas ANDERSON (12/22/1876 - 1/12/1943) and Laura Mae (ABLES) ANDERSON. I believe they lived in communities called Bonanza and Brashear. Also, I am looking for info about Robert R. ANDERSON and Sally ANDERSON, Samuel A.ABLES and Mary V. ABLES. Any information about the above would be greatly appreciated!
