How to Post a Query

I invite you to enter a query for your ancestors. I am using the automatic query system which allows you to post your query to more than one county. This also allows you to add your surnames to a central database. Please do not post the same query more than once. When you submit a query, it takes a day or so for the query to be posted and thus viewable, so please have some patience. If your query has not been added to the new query page after two days, please send your query to me and I will add it manually to the Query Page. I may check your email address to see that anyone replying to you will be able to reach you. If I am unable to contact you after several attempts, your message will be deleted. Please notify me if your query disappears! This may indicate a problem with your query or your email address. I want these queries to be helpful to everyone! I ask that you PLEASE adhere to the following guidelines:
  1. Your query must include a connection to the county it is posted in or it will be deleted.
  2. Enter your query information exactly as you want it to appear. Please type all SURNAMES in capital letters. This makes it easier to read your query.
  3. Please check your spelling and grammar! After all, the whole world may be reading your query!
  4. PLEASE do NOT post requests for lookups on these queries. These should be sent directly to the person listed on the County Lookups Page for a specific resource.
