Ousley Hill Cemetery, Lamar County, TX

From the records of Elizabeth Booth: 'Overstreet Family Cemetery is located in the northwest quadrant of the county, near the Globe community. At the first road to the right after passing Globe sign [County Road 34550] take this road and go about 3 miles. These directions would place it in Block 22 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. The cemetery is located on the right side of the road in a grove of cedar trees near the Craddock community. It is possibly on the E. Wideman survey. J. R. Wideman gave land for a church in 1888. Overstreet and Craddock Cemeteries are supposed to be very near each other.' Mrs. Delores Gullion pointed the cemetery out on a map in March 1995 and said there is little evidence left of the burial ground. There are three persons of the Joel Wheeler family believed buried here. Mrs. Booth was given that information by telephone in March 1979 by Mrs. Dolores Gullion. The following persons have been identified to be buried here: Baby Wells (birth and death are not known), Charles Wheeler died 27 Mar 1897, Joel, John and Ruth Wheeler all whose birth and death are not known.
