Glory Black Cemetery, Lamar County, TX

The location of Glory Black Cemetery is unknown. It was first discovered in the record of Laura Biard who died 6 Aug 1910, mentioned in both Lamar County Death Records Book #1, p.268, #4091, and in the Rodgers and Wade Furniture Co. Funeral Records Book #7, p.11. This could have been another name for Bethlehem Black Cemetery but that is not proven at this time. There are 5 recorded burials under this cemetery name. On 14 Jan 1981 the obituary of Lillie Mae Garland notes burial in Macedonia Cemetery in Glory Community. This could have been a burial in New Dora Cemetery. However, no marker evidence was found of her grave in New Dora. The following persons are known to be buried here: Liza Baldwin died 2 Aug 1959, John C. Biard died 29 Jan 1911, Laura Biard died 6 Aug 1910, Margaret Blank died 23 Sep 1910 and Lillie Mae Matthews Garland 4 Oct 1921 - 14 Jan 1981.
