Compton Cemetery, Lamar County, TX

Compton Cemetery is located near Roxton in the southwest quadrant of the county. There are no road directions in the notes of Mrs. Booth except that it was located by O. T. Oats of Roxton. It would be probably south of County Road #25150 somewhere in Block 54 of the Lamar County Road Map produced by American Drafting and Services revised December 1993. There are 38 identified graves in the cemetery the oldest burial being that of John G. Perrin who died 12 Aug 1850. Elizabeth Booth recorded the cemetery on 30 Jan 1971.
